Carleton Place is growing fast, and with that growth comes real challenges and real opportunities. My priorities are grounded in practical experience, community values, and a deep love for this town. Below you’ll find the areas I believe matter most for our future — the places where thoughtful decisions today will shape a safer, more affordable, more connected Carleton Place for years to come.

Smart, Responsible Growth
Carleton Place is growing, and we need to do it thoughtfully. That means investing in roads, water, sewers, parks and other core infrastructure at a pace we can afford, while protecting our rivers, green spaces and existing neighbourhoods. Smart growth also means planning for a healthy mix of housing options, improving active transit options and providing varied programs and services so families, seniors, and young people can all find a place here. We are going to continue to grow and the decisions we make now are going to impact our community for generations to come. We must do the research, ask hard questions, work together, collect the data and grow in a thoughtful, responsible manner. This council has been working hard to set the groundwork needed to expand our recreational amenties, including a new pool. I would continue to support this iniative as long as it supports the needs of our residents.
Public Safety and Affordability
Keeping our community safe and affordable go hand in hand. I will continue to support strong partnerships with police, fire, and social service agencies. Taking step to ensure these services are available and accesible in our community. As your OPP representative I have been able to help set policing priorities and reveiw data to ensure safe and effecitve community policing remains a priotiry.
I will continue to push for data‑informed decisions on traffic calming and road safety and continuly work on social service supports needed for our community. At the same time, I will keep a close eye on budgets and long‑term asset management so we can maintain reliable services without putting unreasonable pressure on property taxes but this alone will not be enough. We have to continue to lobby the provincial government for better and more sustainable funding options.

Climate‑Ready Infrastructure
Preparing for climate realities must be part of every major decision. I will continue to champion practical, cost‑effective investments that reduce emissions and improve resilience. From emergency preparedness to facility upgrades we need to have a strong plan. We need to continue our energy‑efficient upgrades reduce our waste costs with better waste management and protect our tree canopy and river systems. I am proud of some the advances we have made to reduce our environmental impacts this past term. From heat pumps on the library to energy reductions at the arena and new green bin alternatives we have made positive steps. By bringing all options to the table we can have wholesome discussions. Climate change adaptation and mitigation is an area where all levels of government must work together.
Collaboration and Regional Partnerships
Good municipal government is a team sport. I am committed to working respectfully and collaboratively with fellow councillors and staff, even when we disagree, and to strengthening relationships with our neighbouring municipalities. Many of our biggest challenges – housing, transportation, economic development and the environment – cross municipal boundaries, and we are stronger when we work together.
